About.
For many years, back in the 70's & 80's, I was somewhat active musically. I played a few solo gigs, played out with a couple bands and often dragged my guitar to parties where I teamed up with friends to keep ourselves & others entertained. I usually had some sort of cheap tape recorder on hand to immortalize these events. As the 80's got into full swing, I purchased a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. Armed with the ability to finally do multi-track recording, I also started to do some songwriting. Though I was far from prolific, I did manage to put together some songs of which I was, and still am, very fond.
As time went by, through a house purchase and the raising of 2 kids, the tapes I made both at home and at large patiently waited in some box somewhere in the house. I recently re-kindled an interest in these gems, and I took two steps to bring them to life on this site. First, I took my Tascam off the shelf and got it repaired so that I could re-mix whatever masters I could find of my old multi-tracks. Second, I purchased an interface by ADS Tech called "instant Music" which enabled me to transform anything I had on cassettes into digital media (MP3's, etc.). At last I can upload my music online, burn CD's, load them onto MP3 players, whatever.
What you will find on this site, then, is exactly what I have revived - personal multi-track demos, home recordings, and perhaps an informal studio track or two. Nothing fancy, but I try to include only original material written by myself and my friends. I do hope that you, my friends, will find some enjoyment in these tunes. Will there ever be current material posted? Hopefully, but I'm ultimately an incureable procrastinator. So please enjoy what you can while it's here.
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking this out.
Peace -
Don Loe
