Craig Donegan

Empty Stage

Craig & I met when we both worked at the Pump Room in the mid-80's. Buddhist, laid-back, amicable, hard working, creative - all are things that come to mind when thinking about Craig. Steeped in Roots, Country, Rock, Folk, Blues and so much more, Craig's music always encourages, and deserves, more than one listen. His voice, at times, is somewhere in the misty netherworld somewhere between Lou Reed and Bob Dylan, filtered through Leonard Cohen. Yowzaa! Sadly, there were never as many times as I might have liked to play with this man, and even fewer recordings.
"First Time" is a loosey-goosey song recorded at Acme studios in Chicago. Craigs friend, Josh, is on drums and Yours Truly is on bass. I really can't play bass guitar, so please don't tell Craig.
"She's On The Train" (which I really like) was recorded on my 4-track cassette recorder with Craig on rhythm guitar & vocals and myself on lead guitar. I layered the harmonica track later when there was no-one around to stop me. Hey - it's my studio, right?
The others are recorded somewhere, but I can't recollect just where. All songs are Craig's, except 'She's On The Train', which we co-wrote, and all vocals are Craig, with me on all lead guitar and harmonica.
